AIR FORCE MOM

AIR FORCE MOM

Most moms gets to the place eventually. The place where they’ve been replaced. Sigh. Last night was that time for me. I am an Air Force mom. “wingman, leader, warrior..I will never falter, and I will not fail!” My airman is flying home for a visit soon. When I asked him what time he would be in so that I can be at the airport on time, I saw it on his FaceTime face. He didn’t even have to say anything. I wasn’t the one that was going to pick him up. “Bu….t What do you mean? Ohhhh. I get it. Ok.” Ugg

He’s been talking to someone special for a few months now. She lives close to us and she is picking him up at the airport. When I realized this, I chided with him. “Well, at least I won’t have to split holidays!” He laughed.
My Airman has a little sister. Practically a baby sister at almost 2 years old. When I moved to the country, my new husband and I had a baby girl. How’s that for starting over? She is pure light. Pure joy. An angel in human form. Mom, however, is struggling with that stage when suddenly, there are no more onesies sold in her age bracket and she must graduate to actual small people clothes like shirts. What? No. Not acceptable. Not possible she isn’t a baby still. I don’t want her to wear regular small people clothes. Stomping foot!

If these are my struggles, I’m doing pretty good.  My son is growing up and my daughter is growing up.  Suck it up mom.
